He holds a PhD in Economics from University
of Texas in Austin. He currently holds the position of a Senior Economist at The International Monetary Fund (IMF) & is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University In Economics.
He has been associated with Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan as an Assistant Professor of Economics for three years (2004-07). He is also the Co- editor with Reda Cherif & Min Zhu of Breaking the Oil Spell (Economic diversification in oil exporting countries).
He has focused on growth, innovation & state policies in his most recent research.
