SUMMER

We are excited to share our Summer Programs with you to make your child's summer transformative and fun. We started Ascend Now because we felt that the education system needed correction. When's the last time a student gets asked "What would you like to learn today?" We ask this.

Our 2-week courses have been chosen to provide students with the right mix of theory and application and build higher-order thinking skills that are transferable across student's lives.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

This course is designed to help students aged 10-16 understand the qualities of an effective entrepreneur and put their knowledge to the test by ideating their own business. In this course, we enable students to become more confident communicators, efficient collaborators and socially responsible leaders. Through a culture of 'personal value', we help students visualize their success, plan a roadmap and work towards it. The crux of our value proposition lies in the unstoppable mindset we build students who know,

"How to be better handle failures and persevere when things don't go your way."

COMPUTERS

This programme delves into modules that include hardware, networks, data and functions, algorithms and a final project that requires learners to build their own game. This progression into coding allows learners to fully grasp the hardware behind gaming software, producing programme flowcharts and exploring case studies before diving headfirst into the exciting realm of game development.  Our instructors at Ascend Now enjoy inculcating an inquiry approach to learning which allows learners to be hands-on with their coding in particular; they will write and test code throughout the second half of the course. Ultimately, coding a game is quite a difficult task but with the necessary tools, our learners are able to complete this course with their very own game.

URBAN SUSTAINABILITY

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #11 is to “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”; this course draws on this to assist students in developing relevant and innovative solutions to resolve global urbanization and sustainability challenges. students will be introduced to the concepts of non-profits, Corporate Social Responsibility and fundraising. Understanding these concepts is vital as they progress to debate potential innovative solutions regarding global urbanization and sustainability, whilst being introduced a few wacky, yet maybe somewhat feasible, ideas presented by people from around the globe. Finally, students will gather all their previous knowledge to launch their own environmental campaign.
